Try and work at least four hours: BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar challenges Uddhav Thackeray

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi sleeps only four hours. Uddhav Thackeray should try and work at least this amount of time,” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar said while taking a dig at the Maharashtra Chief Minister.

This comes after Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that Uddhav Thackeray and PM Modi are handling their work in a similar way. Raut said that every chief minister is working in the same manner.

Thackeray is often targeted by the opposition for “working from home” and not leaving his residence ‘Matoshree’ even to attend meetings at Mantralaya. Earlier, BJP leader Pravin Darekar had slammed Thackeray saying that he is the first Chief Minister of Maharashtra to stay at home.

Reacting to the criticism, Raut said that the working method of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uddhav is similar as they both work from one place. Uddhav Thackeray is following the protocol followed by PM and President, he added.

“There is crowd everywhere if the Chief Minister visits someplace. The working method of PM Modi and Uddhav is the same. Even the Prime Minister and the Home Minister are sitting in Delhi and working. Why should a CM break the protocol, if President and PM are following the same?” Raut said.

The Shiv Sena leader further said that Uddhav attends meetings and coordinates with concerned officials via video conferencing. Those who want Uddhav to step out to take stock of the situation amid coronavirus crisis should dare tell the Prime Minister to do so first.

However, Bhatkhalkar said that PM Modi sleeps only for four hours and challenged Thackeray to try and work for at least these many hours.
