BJP initiates signature campaign to support CAA in Mumbai

The campaign started by Mumbai Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has got 40,000 signatures until now. Mumbai BJYM President Tejinder Singh Tiwana said that CAA is the need of the hour.

Amid the country-wide protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a week-long signature campaign to convince about the merits of the newly passed legislation to people. 

The campaign started by Mumbai Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has got 40,000 signatures until now. Mumbai BJYM President Tejinder Singh Tiwana said that CAA is the need of the hour. 

Hindus, Sikhs and other non-Muslims are being persecuted on the religious basis in neighbouring countries including Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The government of India is doing humanitarian work by giving citizenship to such victims,” said Tiwana.

Tiwana further informed that this signature campaign has been initiated to clear the confusion over CAA which is being created by Congress and other opposition parties.

The BJP has started the campaign in other states as well. The campaign was started on Tuesday and will continue till January 14.
