Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will take to streets to expose corruption of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government during the coronavirus pandemic.

While addressing the gathering at Maharashtra BJP Executive at Vasant Smruti in Dadar, Fadnavis said that his party will expose alleged scams and the non-governance of MVA government amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Uddhav Thackeray government has accused the BJP of defaming Mumbai Police and Maharashtra in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Reacting to this, Fadnavis said that the bad name to the state has come due to their own actions.

Speaking over the MVA’s opposition to farm laws, Fadnavis claimed that the Maharashtra government was ready to implement the reforms in the farm sector. He said that the implementation has been put on hold due to pressure from Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The BJP has demanded that the temples should be reopened in the state. “Not temples, but liquor has been allowed. What is this? At least have respect for Hindu Hridya Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray. Change, but not so much. Allow temples to open in Maharashtra,” Fadnavis said.

The rape case in Hathras has become a national outrage after the Uttar Pradesh police forcibly cremated the 19-year-old victim. The leaders in Maharashtra have criticised the Yogi Adityanath government over the same.

Reacting to this, Fadnavis said that the Hathras victim should get justice as the incident was condemnable. “However, women in Maharashtra don’t get the same sympathy from the state government. Rape and molestation cases happened at COVID centres. The government should also present numbers for it,” he claimed.

He said that the government has failed to give compensation to those affected due to the Nisarga cyclone in Konkan region. Fadnavis also accused the MVA government of neglecting the flood-hit farmers in Vidarbha and other parts of Maharashtra.
