Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Maharashtra Finance Minister, Sudhir Mungantiwar on Friday said that the President’s rule will be imposed in the state if the new government is not formed by November 9.

Mungantiwar made these remarks amid the ongoing rift between Shiv Sena and BJP over power-sharing. The assembly election results in Maharashtra were declared on October 24 and since then, Sena is adamant on its demand to implement 50-50 power-sharing formula.

Talking about the delay in talks between saffron allies, Mungantiwar said that the same was due to Diwali festival. However, the negotiations will start in the coming days.

Earlier in the day, Sanjay Raut told reporters that the new Maharashtra Chief Minister will form the Shiv Sena while asserting that if Sena decides, it can get the required numbers to form a stable government in the state.
