Amid the tea and rat scam reports against the Maharashtra government, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that the state opposition couldn’t find any concrete evidence to accuse the ruling government.

“In the last four years of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) rule in Maharashtra, the BJP government was so transparent that there was no evidence with the opposition to accuse us. Thus, they resorted to tea and rats,” asserted Fadnavis during his address on the occasion of BJP Foundation Day at Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai on Friday.

Taking a dig at Sharad Pawar

Earlier, National Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar took a dig at the CM over the tea scam saying that “Nobody in our time used to drink so much tea.”

Lashing out at Sharad Pawar, the CM said, "Don’t mess with the ‘Chaiwalas’ and if you continue to do so, you will once again face defeat in the upcoming elections.”

Fadnavis also said that NCP lashing out at the BJP government in Maharashtra is irrelevant and ironical as “They are the one who have been corrupt in the past and now they are accusing us.”

Plans to disrupt BJP in Maharashtra

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis compared Prime Minister Narendra to a Lion and the opposition to Wolves. “As the elections are approaching next year, the opposition like wolves are trying to fight a lion together but these wolves will not stand in front of the lion’s party.”

A friendly hand towards Shiv Sena?

Ahead of Maharashtra elections next year, Shiv Sena earlier threatened to not form an alliance with the BJP. Meanwhile, Fadnavis praised Bal Thackeray in his address without naming the Shiv Sena.
