On the sixth death anniversary of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday went to Shivaji Park to pay tribute to the late leader.
Before that, CM Fadnavis and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray met at the residence of Mumbai Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar. However, Uddhav Thackeray did not accompany Fadnavis at Shivaji Park. This move has generated several speculations in the political circle about the distance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena.

CM Fadnavis met Uddhav Thackeray for almost 15 minutes and after the meeting ended, it was expected that they would go together to pay homage to Bal Thackeray. However, that did not happen.
Shiv Sena leader and Transport Minister Diwakar Raote along with Milind Narvekar met the chief minister. Fadnavis also met Uddhav Thackeray’s wife Rashmi Thackeray and son Aditya Thackeray.
