On Wednesday, BJP leaders registered complaints against state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, his wife Rashmi Thackeray who is also the editor of Saamana and Varun Sardesai Secretary Yuva Sena, pursuing FIRs against them. This development comes amidst the backdrop of BJP Leader and Union Minister Narayan Rane being arrested and later granted bail for his remarks against the Chief Minister, cited reports.

According to the report by the Hindustan Times, the three complaints have been filed in Nashik, with the police confirming that BJP leaders gave three applications for complaints, it said PTI reported.

Rishikesh Jayant Aher lodged the first complaint against Thackeray and Sardesai. The complaint blamed Sardesai for presenting an “illegal demonstration” on Wednesday outside’s Rane’s Mumbai residence. He believes that an incorrect message was then sent when the CM felicitated him at his official residence. The complainant referred to videos of the protest which were shown on television channels and social media. Aher wants Sardesai to be booked under sections 153(A), 107, 212 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the cybercrime laws, stated the report.

Sunil Raghunath Kedar filed the second complaint against Thackeray for he believes that he has allegedly made insulting comments against Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. A video from 2018 is doing the rounds on social media, prior to Thackeray becoming the CM where he is allegedly saying that Yogi should be "slapped with his chappal" for ornamenting Shivaji’s photo while wearing footwear. Kedar mentioned that not only is Yogi the CM and a party leader, but also a mahant of Gorakhpur Math, thus Hindu sentiments are attached to him.

Shivaji Nivrutti Barke filed the third complaint against Rashmi Thackeray which says that in the party’s mouthpiece Saamana on Wednesday many derogatory words were used for Rane which slanders the constitutional post that he holds.

With this the political battle between both parties continues.
