Maharashtra Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat jumped in to attack Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over his claim that the migrant workers were treated badly in the state.
Yogi Adityanath should understand one thing that Maharashtra took care of the migrant workers and labourers for two months when they had no work and money, Thorat said.
“Since the mother is not willing to take care of her child, the child goes to his/her aunt to seek help. The migrant workers who didn’t have a job and money for two months, who took care of them? We provided food and shelter to the migrants and their family members,” Maharashtra Congress President Balasaheb Thorat said.

In a harsh criticism, Thorat said that the UP government and its CM couldn’t create jobs for its own people and they came to Maharashtra. The state government here took care of lakhs of stranded migrants like their family members.
“When the migrants wanted to go home, free travel was arranged for them. We even paid for their railway fare. The way they are being treated in their own state (UP), CM Yogi Adityanath should take a loot at that,” Thorat said.
Yogi Adityanath earlier claimed that the migrant workers and labourers were treated badly in Maharashtra and announced that other states will require permission to hire workers from UP.
The remarks made by the UP CM has sparked a political controversy with MVA leaders attacking Yogi Adityanath. Earlier, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut taunted Adityanath saying that he would send him videos of migrants hailing Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray while leaving for their homes.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray also attacked Yogi Adityanath saying that if the Uttar Pradesh government is emphasising on seeking permission to employ UP residents, they will have to take the permission of state government to work here.
