Raj Thackeray started the campaign rally at Dombivli in Thane district which is the stronghold of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Interestingly, Raj Thackeray has not fielded his candidates in 10 constituencies in support of the Mahayuti.
Raju Patil has been announced as a candidate from MNS in Kalyan Rural. Rajesh More of Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Subhash Bhoir of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) have been fielded against Raju Patil.
Although Raj Thackeray was in favour of the Mahayuti, Raj criticised Uddhav and Shinde for their bitter fight over Shiv Sena's legacy. He also said that the party name and 'Dhanushyaban' symbol belong to Balasaheb Thackeray and are not the property of any group.
The state has been humiliated with splits between parties and MLAs switching sides for power. Stating this, the MNS chief said that voters should think before voting.
Raj said that his candidate Raju Patil will remain loyal to MNS. "My Raju is not Bikau, Tikau," he lashed out.
"Your vote should not be insulted. No one knows whether the candidate is from Mahayuti or Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA)," he said.
