Based on accounts, in the early hours of Thursday, at nearly 6 am the ED team from Mumbai had conducted searches at Uke's house in Nagpur's Parvati Nagar. The search reportedly commenced amid tight security by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
The lawyer was reportedly under the scanner of the ED for his alleged role in certain land and property cases, highlight narratives.
Apart from this, accounts state that Uke had challenged the electoral affidavit of Fadnavis who was quizzed by the ED team during their searches. Uke had sought criminal proceedings against Fadnavis for the "non-disclosure" of criminal cases in his election affidavit. The lawyers, in their application, alleged that the former CM had filed a false affidavit in 2014. It has been claimed that Uke is also the lawyer of Nana Patole, Maharashtra Congress Chief.
