In the election season, Election Commission of India (ECI) implements the model code of conduct to ensure fair undertaking of the polling process. However, political parties always find a way to violate the same. In this case, Congress has raised its voice against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for misusing their position to gain undue advantage.

Congress has filed a complaint with EC that in some television shows, the schemes related to the existing government such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, PM Ujjwala Yojana, and PM Mudra Yojana are being propagated to influence the voters while praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
