Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirit Somaiya has written a letter to Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari expressing his fear of being “physically attacked by Shiv Sena workers”.

The former BJP MP claimed that he fears a physical assault by Sena workers with a Shiv Sena-led government ruling in Maharashtra.

Along with the Governor, Somiaya expressed his concerns to Home Secretary Sanjay Kumar, Mumbai Police commissioner Sanjay Barve and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra Legislative assembly, Devendra Fadnavis.

In the letter, the BJP leader said that he had exposed various scams of corrupt politicians belonging to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena.

... a couple of them are in jail and I am afraid that these people may arrange a physical attack on me,” Somaiya added while stating that he had sent the letter to inform about the threat.

Somaiya has also attached the screenshot of threats he had received on his Facebook page. One of the comments threatened the BJP leader saying “this man is likely to get beaten up in the next five years.”
