After the disqualification of Congress corporator Steffi Kinni from Malad, Shiv Sena’s Geeta Bhandari will soon be declared as the corporator from Malad ward number 32.
Bhandari’s name is likely to be announced as a corporator at the general assembly meeting. With this, Shiv Sena’s strength in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will increase and the party will have 94 corporators.
Earlier in 2017, Kinni was elected as Congress corporator from ward number 32 in Malad. However, later, it was revealed that the caste certificate he had submitted to the Election Commission was declared invalid by the caste certificate inquiry committee.
After this, Kinni approached the Bombay High Court. In December 2018, the HC ordered Kinni to be disqualified from his post. Later, Geeta Bhandari, who stood second in the BMC elections, filed a petition in HC and the court ordered in her favour.

Geeta Bhandari will be declared as corporator from Malad ward number 32 by the Mayor in the general assembly meeting of the civic body.
