Mumbai – Dynastic politics was one of the major issues in these BMC elections as political families bagged tickets. But as the results were declared few families were seen celebrating, while others were lamenting at their loss.

Bharatiya Janta Party turncoat Makrand Narvekar won from ward number – 226. Narvekar’s sister also clinched the victory in ward number – 227. Sena candidate Bablu Panchal lost while his wife Anita Panchal emerged winner. Women power was clearly visible as the results started coming out, Mrs Surekha Lokhande won the seat while her husband Rohidas Lokhande lost to Rais Shaikh of Samajwadi Party.

NCP Candidates Ajitrao Rane and Rupali Raorane both suffered defeats. Whereas, Haroon Khan and Jyoti Khan bagged their seats, but their son Roshan Khan could not win his seat. BJP candidates Mr and Mrs Patel were victorious from Andheri. Kesarben Patel defeated her opponents in ward number – 76, while Murji Patel thrashed his counterparts in ward number – 81. MP Rahul Shewale’s wife Kamini Shewale, didn’t get enough support of the voters and consequently she lost from the ward number – 141. Still there was a sight of happiness in the family as his sister Vaishali Shewale tasted success from ward number – 144.

Shewale’s close acquaintances Nimesh Bhosle and Shekhar Chavan were also defeated.
