On Wednesday, the state government proclaimed a package of Rs 10,000cr for afflicted farmers impacted by the intense rains and floods in Maharashtra, stated reports.
State chief minister Uddhav Thackeray along with deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and PWD Minister Ashok Chavan proclaimed the announcement on Wednesday in the cabinet meeting, highlighted accounts.

Based on the report by the Times of India, the government made a statement wherein they elaborated on how crops on more than 55 lakh hectares of farmland were impaired owing to the incessant rainfall in Maharashtra from June to October. Thus, the Maharashtra cabinet has proclaimed financial help of Rs 10,000cr to those farmers impacted by this calamity caused by nature.
An assistance of Rs 10,000 per hectare has been proclaimed for agriculture, Rs 15,000 per hectare for horticulture and Rs 25,000 per hectare for perennial crops, mentioned the account. In addition to this, the farmers will also attain compensation for the damage of crops on up to two hectares of land.
This announcement comes amidst the backdrop of the state-wide bandh announced by the Maharashtra government on Monday to stand in solidarity with the farmers against the atrocities they faced in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri.
