Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) is currently investigating the Nalasopara Explosive Case and has arrested several suspects who have connections to Sanatan Sanstha. However, according to a report published by India Scoop, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered the state ATS to “go soft and slow on arrested Hindutva hardliners”. Reacting to the report, Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant demanded CM Fadnavis to immediately provide an explanation regarding the same.

With explosives found at the residence of the accused in Nalasopara Case and their connection with Sanatan Sanstha indicates planning of terror attacks. According to the report published by the media publication, it is possible that the links to this can go up to RSS and VHP.

The report states that the orders to “go soft” on the accused have come from Delhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is personally monitoring the matter on a daily basis. “While the Modi Government doesn’t support any terror activities, they do not want to be seen as anti-Hindu or against Hindutva,” the report mentions.

Furthermore, in the report, it is mentioned that the political pressure on Maharashtra ATS is hampering the investigation in Gauri Lankesh’s Murder. Karnataka Special Investigation Team (SIT) alleged that Maharashtra ATS has not submitted any information regarding the same. Reacting to this, Sawant slammed Maharashtra government and questioned its intention to catch the suspects in these cases.

In connection with the Nalasopara Explosive Case, Sambhaji Bhide’s  Shiva Pratishthan members have been picked up. However, ATS has not even bothered to investigate Sambhaji Bhide regarding the matter.
