Aam Aadmi Party office-bearers have demanded that a case of culpable homicide be filed against the organisers in connection with the death of 14 people due to heat stroke during the Maharashtra Bhushan award distribution ceremony. AAP Maharashtra Secretary Dhananjay Shinde informed on Wednesday that a written statement in this regard has been given to the Kharghar police.

On Wednesday afternoon, AAP office bearers came to MGM Hospital in Kamothe to inquire about the patients undergoing treatment due to heat stroke. At this time, AAP Secretary Shinde alleged that this incident happened due to the negligence of the organisers and that the government organised this event for its own publicity despite the warning of heat stroke by the Meteorological Department.

The Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that star facilities were provided for VIPs and nothing for people who had come for the event. Also, although the government announced the death of 14 people, it is predicted that more than 50 people actually died due to heat stroke and stampede, alleged AAP party. The Aam Aadmi Party demanded that the government should hold such award ceremonies in closed premises after spending INR 14 crore on the award of 25 lakhs.
