In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, there are several parliamentary constituencies where the people have voted for NOTA (None of the Above). In Mumbai and other LS seats, NOTA has received more than 10,000 votes. In Palghar, more than 29,000 voters have preferred to get inked with NOTA.
In recent elections, there has been an increase in the number of voters who have opted for NOTA. The numbers of voters voting for NOTA have increased by 4,000 to 8,000. Of the 10 constituencies in Mumbai and its nearby areas, more than 10,000 people have voted for NOTA in every constituency except North-Central Mumbai and Kalyan.
During the 2014 general elections, NOTA was introduced as an alternative option for the voters which was proposed by the Election Commission. Earlier in 2014, almost 21,000 votes for NOTA were registered for NOTA while in 2019 general elections 29,000 people have voted for the same.
