Shiv Sena MP and Executive Editor of ‘Saamana’, Sanjay Raut has clarified that the remarks about late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s relations with his family were made based on the information he has.
Raut said that he will look into the matter if he has missed something. This comes after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Bihar - Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu - sent a legal notice to the Shiv Sena leader and demanded an apology within 48 hours over his remarks about the second marriage of Sushant’s father.
In the article, Raut claimed that Sushant Singh Rajput didn’t share good relations with his father KK Singh and was unhappy with his second marriage.
“I have sympathy for his (Sushant Singh Rajput) father but there are many things that will come to the surface. How many times did Sushant go to Patna to meet his father? He was not in good terms with his father,” Raut had claimed in his article.
Bablu, who is also the cousin of Sushant Singh Rajput, through his lawyer sent a legal notice to Raut via email. Avinash Jha, the lawyer, said that if Raut tenders an apology within 48 hours, the matter will not be pursued further or else the Shiv Sena leader will have to face legal action.
Bablu had earlier rubbished the allegations made by Raut saying that Sushant’s father KK Singh never married and accused the Shiv Sena leader of making claims without knowing the facts.
Reacting to this, Raut confirmed that he has received the legal notice and will decide what to do about it. “If there has been any miss on our part, we will think about it. However, what I claimed is based on the information I have and Sushant’s family is speaking on what they know,” he said.
