The Maha Vikas Aghadi decided to fight the upcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections together and provide competent alternatives in its meeting on Sunday. Leaders of Congress, Nationalist Congress Party and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) group as well as other constituent parties will discuss seat sharing, NCP State President Jayant Patil said.

The meeting of Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders was held at Silver Oak residence of NCP President Sharad Pawar. Uddhav Thackeray, Ashok Chavan, Balasaheb Thorat and other leaders were present in the meeting. After that NCP state president Jayant Patil, Congress state president Nana Patole and Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut held a joint press conference. Aghadi Vajramooth meetings will resume after the heat subsides.

The next meeting will be held in Pune and the Chief Minister of Karnataka will be felicitated in this meeting, NCP State President Jayant Patil said in a press conference after the meeting. He said, "BJP has suffered a big defeat in Karnataka. This election result was analysed. There was anger among the people against the BJP, it was expressed through the ballot box. The people of Karnataka have vented their anger against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-Amit Shah through voting.”

After the big victory of the Congress in the Karnataka Assembly elections, the Maha Vikas Aghadi is also excited in Maharashtra. The opposition parties have united to defeat the BJP and in this regard it has been agreed to fight the elections together. Like Karnataka, the Maha Vikas Aghadi will work in the future with greater numbers and strength, deserving the trust of the people.

Mahavikas Aghadi will try to provide a competent and solid alternative to Maharashtra. Patil also said that there was a consensus on this in the meeting. The meeting discussed the judgement of the Supreme Court and the next steps. The Supreme Court has placed a limit and given the responsibility of the Assembly Speaker to decide on the disqualification petitions of the MLAs. The court has said that the Assembly Speaker should give a decision at the earliest. They will take a decision in that regard, said Patil.
