Mumbai - Apparently, we have not been respecting Maharashtra's biggest icon enough.
The state government on Wednesday decreed that the names of the city airport and chief railway station be renamed with the honorific 'Maharaj'
CST, previously long known as VT, will now be Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and the international airport will turn Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, adding an extra bit of tongue twisting for the announcers on international carriers.
The state cabinet decided to change the names of the public institutions, saying the Maratha warrior deserved more respect. Both institutions were renamed in 1995 from their earlier monickers.
