Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde finally expanded his cabinet at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, August 9, at 11 am in a grand ceremony in Mumbai after 40 days of forming his government with his deputy CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis.

Altogether 18 ministers — nine each from the Shinde group and BJP — took oath. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari administered the oath of office to these legislators as ministers. The allocation of portfolios is yet to be announced.

Here are the names of Shinde camp MLAs who are inducted into the Maharashtra cabinet:

1) Gulabrao Patil 2) Dada Bhuse 3) Uday Samant 4) Shambhuraje Desai 5) Sandipan Bhumare 6) Bharat Gogawale 7) Sanjay Shirsat 8) Bacchu Kadu

Here are the BJP MLAs who are inducted into the Maharashtra cabinet:

After the oath-taking ceremony, while talking to media, Shinde exclaimed: "Starting today, they will work full-fledged and take up the responsibility of their respective departments. It's a small cabinet and the rest of the cabinet still remains to be formed."

Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that no single women has been inducted in the ministry. Lashing on the same, Supriya Sule took to Twitter and wrote: "This is an injustice to the women power of the state."

Shinde met MLAs of his camp ahead of the ceremony this morning. He is backed by 40 of the 55 Sena MLAs. The CM has made seven visits to New Delhi in the last one month, and with every visit there was talk that the ministry expansion was round the corner.

A day earlier, the State administration on Monday, August 8, issued a notice announcing that the long-delayed monsoon session of the State legislature would also begin on Wednesday, August 10, and continue till August 18.
