If necessary, a law will be enacted in the state against forced conversion or love-jihad. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the Legislative Council that a decision will be taken after studying the laws prepared by other states.

Responding to an interesting suggestion made by BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar, Fadnavis said, "If someone is getting married with the intention of cheating, forcing or luring, it should be stopped." Guideline Instructions (SOP) will be prepared asking the Director General of Police to investigate such cases of extra-religious or love jihad expeditiously. Opposition leader Ambadas Danve asked how many complaints have been received so far with the Inter-Religious Marriage Parivar Committee set up by the government and what action has been taken by the government.

Responding to this, Fadnavis said that the committee works to reestablish dialogue by contacting the parents and the daughter after the Shraddha Walker murder case. Had Shraddha received help in time, the murder could have been prevented. However, I do not have the information about how many complaints have been received at present. I will put the information on the table, said Fadnavis.

After love marriage, some cases go to the police station where the girl is not ready to stay with her parents. Accommodation of such girls has to be arranged in an ashram. A report should be prepared after studying such cases. Deputy Chairman Neelam Gorhe directed that a decision should be taken regarding the Love Jihad Act by forming a joint medical committee with group leaders, intellectuals and people who have worked in this subject.

50 Shakti houses

50 Shakti Sadnas (houses) will be created to accommodate girls in love jihad and other cases where the girl herself is not willing to go back home or her parents do not accept her. For this, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis informed that the Center will provide 60 percent financial assistance, while the state government will provide 40 percent financial assistance.
