Maharashtra State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in the afternoon on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. While the agenda of the meeting was not shared initially, the discussion between the two has sparked conversations in political circles.

As per reports, Anil Deshmukh did not speak to the media after the which sources say was planned to offer Diwali greetings to the governor, and there was nothing else on the agenda. However, it is also said that discussions regarding Arnab Goswami may have happened at the meeting, as Governor Koshyari called Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and expressed concern over Arnab's safety and health. The Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV was arrested recently and is currently being kept at Taloja jail.

This decision was opposed by the ruling parties, and talking about the same, the Minority Affairs Minister and NCP spokesperson, Nawab Malik, mentioned that the Governor should show sympathy for his family rather than sympathizing with one of the accused, it would have been appropriate had he done that.

On the other hand, questions are being raised about Arnab Goswami's safety and health, which as per reports, are being taken care of. Currently, members of the family and relatives are not allowed to visit him due to COVID-19 outbreak. However, if Arnab wants to speak to his family, he can do so with the permission of the prison administration. This information was clarified by Anil Deshmukh who added that he can talk to lawyers on the phone as well.

Earlier, BJP MLA from Mumbai, Ram Kadam, on Tuesday marched from Hutatma Chowk to Mantralaya to meet Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and demanded his release.
