An audio clip featuring a phone conversation of Sandipan Bhumre, an Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena minister, went viral on the internet on Thursday, June 22. Bhumre, the Maharashtra Employment Guarantee Scheme minister, was found using offensive language in a phone conversation.

The audio has drawn attention from opposition leaders and raised concerns about corruption allegations.

Uddhav Thackeray, the president of the Shiv Sena (UBT), also stepped in to reassure the person in the audio that the party stands behind him. Thackeray made it clear that Bhumre's actions did not reflect the party's stance. He also urged the individual not to worry about the minister's offensive language.

Within the audio recording, Bhumre, who also serves as the guardian minister for Aurangabad district, engages in a conversation with a person identified as Babasaheb Wagh. The discussion centres around alleged corruption in road construction. Bhumre is heard responding to Wagh's social media comments on the matter. Wagh, however, clarifies that his comments were for someone else closely associated with Bhumre. Then, Bhumre questions Wagh if he knew that the other person was close to him or not.

Following the circulation of audio, Wagh made a police complaint and reached out to Ambadas Danve, the leader of the opposition, to address the matter. Danve confirmed having listened to the audio recording. He also highlighted Wagh's complaints regarding an unfinished road project and a well.

Wagh criticises the guardian ministers, including Bhumre, who start threatening instead of ensuring resolution for the incomplete projects. Despite the bills for these projects being approved, the road work remains unfinished. Bhumre has remained silent so far. But it should be noted that the authenticity of the audio recording has not yet been independently verified.
