Dhananjay Munde asks officials to clear caste certificate verification cases within a month

Over 35,000 cases and applications have been pending due to the coronavirus lockdown. Addressing the same, the government has asked the team to use the online process to clear the cases, as this would offer a lot of relief to the citizens.

In a recent development, the Maharashtra Government has come up with a plan to introduce an interim online process of caste certificate verification, and this move is said to save citizens' time and efforts while applying for certification.

As per data collected from district-wise reports, over 35,000 cases are pending, Keeping this in mind, the state minister for Social Justice and Special Assistance, Dhananjay Munde, has directed the officers of all the district caste certificate verification committees to resolve all these cases within a month.

The caste certificate verification process is being carried out online on an experimental basis through a web portal. Dhananjay Munde reviewed the work of this process for six months, in a meeting held along with Shyam Tagade, Principal Secretary, Department of Social Justice, Prashant Naranware, Commissioner, Social Welfare, Dhammajit Gajbhiye, Director General, BARTI, and Chief Officers of Caste Certificate Verification Committees of all the districts in the state through online webinars.

He received the information from the committee officers with regards to the concerns from each district along with the number of cases filed and the pending cases. Officials were asked to share the reason for the same. After a thorough understanding, he directed the teams to develop a plan to ease the process of verification to ease.

Officials are facing delays due to restrictions and other difficulties brought in the coronavirus lockdown, and the departments are working hard to resolve the same. An interim online system has been developed where certificates will be issued to the citizens. This will help them apply for verification, just through a click, at the comfort of their homes. Moreover, the procedure will bring a lot of relief as there is no transportation facility available due to the ongoing lockdown. 

As per reports, this method has been getting a good response. Currently, more than 35,000 cases are pending with the committees in all the districts of the state, and the team will soon process them. Meanwhile, Dhananjay Munde has also directed the committees to clear all cases received by them within a month, as this will help citizens breathe a sigh of relief.
