In a recent announcement, Assembly Speaker Nana Patole has directed the administration to investigate the Thane industrial plot case once again, this time with the help of a high-level inquiry committee. He added that this was a serious matter, and there are possibilities to use the plot for industrial purposes without the permission of the government and without paying revenue.

Keeping these factors in mind, a comprehensive review of the case was needed, the report of which has to be submitted by seeking help from the high-level inquiry committee. The same will be appointed in this regard.

A meeting, to discuss the matters, was held at Vidhan Bhavan whereby the statement received from Rambhau Tayde. Present at the same were Thane District Collector Rajesh Narvekar, Revenue and Urban Development Department officials.

As per reports, a 18165.20 sq.m land located in Thane was sold without permission, and addressing the same, Nana Patole has directed the officials that strict action should be taken after conducting an inquiry focusing on the transfer and sale transactions.

Moreover, he had earlier also stated that a report should be submitted to the Revenue Minister within 15 days for review, seeking clarity regarding the misuse and misappropriation of government revenue land of Mazgaon Plot No. 593.

Reports state that with the permission of BIRF, Revenue and Forest Department, Urban Development Department, Labor Commissioner, Collector, Mumbai City, the permission was given to lease and redevelop the land as per the terms and conditions. Orders were given to start 10,000 spindle spinning mills on this land within six months after redevelopment permission, and the same was granted in this regard, however, the mill has not been started here till date.

As a result, the government suffered a great loss.
