West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will arrive in Mumbai on Tuesday evening, November 30, for a three-day visit. During her visit, Banerjee will meet NCP President Sharad Pawar and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
It is pertinent to note that her meeting with Thackeray and Pawar, two of the three coalition partners in the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra, comes amid her party’s widening rift with the Congress. However, reports stated that Uddhav Thackeray would not be meeting Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee due to health related concerns, reports stated. Though, Maharashtra Environment and Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray, who is CM's son, will be meeting Banerjee today at 7:30 pm.
The TMC supremo also aims to attract investments to the state during her Mumbai visit.
Moreover, it is also understood that she will meet industrialists and businessmen on Wednesday, December 1 and extend an invitation to them for the Bengal Global Business Summit, to be held in April next year.
After arriving in Mumbai on Tuesday evening, she will go to the Siddhivinayak temple to offer prayers. In addition, she is also slated to attend wedding of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s daughter. Banerjee will likely return on Thursday, December 2.
Banerjee had last week visited Delhi and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to press for various demands of the state. She, however, did not pay a visit to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, given the changed equation between the TMC and the grand old party.
