Maharashtra Government on Wednesday submitted the State Backward Class Commission’s report on Maratha reservation to Bombay High Court. While hearing the petition, the high court narrated that the motive of the same has been fulfilled.

Earlier, Maratha Kranti Morcha Coordinator Vinod Patil filed the petition demanding the backward class commission report to be submitted in the High Court. Patil had demanded that the Maratha reservation should be resolved ahead of academic session for the benefit of Maratha students.

Bombay HC has clarified that the petition is being quashed after the government submitted the report on Maratha reservation adding that they are in process to embed the same in the law. 

The petition was heard on Wednesday and during the hearing, the state government informed the court that the statutory process regarding Maratha reservation has started. The court concluded that the original motive of the petition has been achieved.
