Maharashtra Assembly Election: AIMIM to contest by themselves on 74 seats

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) have decided to contest the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections by themselves after their alliance with Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) came to an end. 

While talking to the media, Maharashtra AIMIM President Imtiaz Jaleel informed that the party will contest the assembly polls on 74 assembly constituencies. Meanwhile, AIMIM is working on the candidate list. 

AIMIM is conducting interviews of potential candidates required for Malegaon, Badgaon, Bhokar and Nanded assembly constituencies. Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM will also carry out interviews for other constituencies. 

Moreover, Jaleel informed that along with Dalit community, Maratha and OBC communities have also shown support for the AIMIM.

AIMIM and VBA contested 2019 Lok Sabha elections together and managed to leave a mark. The Prakash Ambedkar and Asaduddin Owaisi front was able to win on one Lok Sabha seat.
