MNS Chief Raj Thackeray Meets Kalpita Pimple, the Injured Thane Civic Official

Raj Thackeray the president of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) believes that illegal hawker’s proclivity to hooliganism should be destroyed, post his meet at a hospital, with Kalpita Pimple, a senior Thane civic official. She sustained injuries after a street vendor attacked her whilst on an anti-encroachment drive, highlighted reports.

Pimple is the assistant municipal commissioner (AMC) of Thane’s Majiwada-Manpada area. She lost three fingers, apart from succumbing to head injuries when a hawker with a knife, stabbed her on August 30 at the Kasarvadavali junction. Her security guard is believed to have suffered injuries too.

The MNS chief paid a visit to the hospital and checked on Pimple’s health and acknowledged the courage she showed and hoped that she recovered soon.

After his interaction with her, he addressed the media in Marathi and elaborated on how he was upset about this incident  and spoke about how, during this, such tendencies are gaining momentum. He added that the party’s fight against illegal hawkers will continue and their “courage” should be crushed.

He elaborated on how he has discussed this problem with senior police officers, and whilst the authorities are doing their job, he hopes that the accused receive an appropriate punishment, with the court also doing their duty.

Amar Yadav has been identified as the accused hawker. Not only did he attack the officer, but also then threatened to commit suicide, later he was arrested.

On social media, a video of the accused screaming and soldering the knife had gone viral.

He has been booked by the Kasarwadavali police under various Indian Penal Code Sections.
