Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Amit Thackeray on Tuesday night called up his uncle and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the phone while asking him to help the stranded students in Pune. 

Amit Thackeray telephoned Uddhav Thackeray around 10:00 PM after talking to the stranded students in Pune studying for MPSC and other competitive exams. Reacting to this, the Maharashtra State MPSC Coordinating Committee expressed their gratitude to Amit Thackeray and informed that he has helped the students during a difficult time. 

Amit Thackeray, son of MNS chief Raj Thackeray, requested the Chief Minister to make arrangements for these students to go to their respective homes immediately. A bus should be provided to the students stuck in Pune, Thackeray added. 

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray assured the MNS leader that these students will leave for their respective homes in two days. The MNS leader had also written a letter to Uddhav Thackeray demanding that the information regarding hospitals should be available via an app amid the coronavirus outbreak. 

Many citizens are being told during the treatment that there are not many beds in a particular hospital and that you should go to another hospital. In such cases, the mental state of the patients and their relatives are also affected. Ito tackle this, all the information related to hospitals should be made available on an app,” Amit Thackeray had written in his letter. 

Earlier, Maharashtra Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadettiwar on Wednesday announced that the state government will provide free ST buses to stranded workers, students and pilgrims to move from one district to another. 

Wadettiwar said that his department will bear the cost and will provide 10,000 buses of the Maharastra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).
