Amidst the prevailing loudspeaker issue in Maharashtra, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Bala Nandgaonkar while interacting with the media on Wednesday, May 11 remarked that the MNS chief Raj Thackeray has received death threats allegedly from Muslim organisations, reports stated.

Based on accounts, Nandgaonkar claimed that a letter threatening to kill Thackeray was received by the MNS office. The MNS leader reportedly met with the Maharashtra home minister Dilip Walse Patil on Wednesday. Herein he apprised him about the letter that he claims was written in Urdu, and mentioned narratives.

Nandgaonkar has been quoted in reports saying, "I have met Home minister Dilip Palse Patil today about receiving a threat letter over the Azaan issue. The letter also contains a threat to Raj Thackeray. His security should be heightened."

It has been reported that Nandgaonkar exclaimed that even if the hair on Thackeray's head is touched, Maharashtra will burn.

For those unversed, the Shiv Sena and MNS chief have been at loggerheads in the aftermath of the loudspeaker row. Earlier in April, Thackeray demanded that loudspeakers from mosques in Maharashtra be removed.

According to accounts, Thackeray is slated to visit Ayodhya on June 5. Similarly, Maharashtra tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray too with Shiv Sena workers from throughout India are set to visit the same location on June 10.
