After Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) announced that it will not contest in the Lok Sabha elections scheduled in April this year, party chief Raj Thackeray continued his campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah. Thackeray asserted that this election is “a fight between Modi-Shah and the country.”
While addressing party workers and leaders at Rangsharda Hall, MNS chief Raj Thackeray attacked PM Modi and said that the opposition should come together for “Modi-Mukt Bharat.” Thackeray informed that he will carry out rallies against Modi and Shah, asking party cadre to work against the BJP candidates in the upcoming LS polls.
Speaking about Modi’s campaign #MainBhiChowkidar, Thackeray appealed to the voters to not fall for this “gimmick” saying that this is being done to divert attention from the real issues. The MNS chief said that the country needs a fresh start for which Modi and Shah have to be defeated.
Thackeray further accused the Modi government of falsifying the details regarding the air strike carried out by Indian Air Force (IAF) across Line of Control (LoC). However, the MNS chief clarified that he has full faith in IAF while saying that he has not seen a PM who lies so much.

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said that Raj Thackeray is a parrot while alleging that his speeches were being written by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar. Reacting to this, Thackeray called CM Fadnavis a “balloon” and played a video of PM Modi criticising Pawar and later, praising him.
