Modi, not Gandhi spins the charkha now!

Modi, not Gandhi spins the charkha now!

Mumbai- Life has come full circle for the country now, it appears.
The Khadi Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has published a wall calendar and table diary for 2017 - but with a twist. The age old tradition of having the KVIC calendars and diaries with the image of the Mahatma spinning the hand loom has been done away with. In its stead, is a cheerful picture of the country's prime minister Narendra Modi taking Gandhi's place at the charkha.
The KVIC honchos may have thought they were scoring a few brownie points with the central government with his little bit of sycophancy, but the KVIC employees are not amused. Enraged employees of the KVIC in Mumbai protested against this creative license by wearing black bands across their mouths, during lunch hour on Thursday at the KVIC's Vile Parle headquarters.
Will the protest get Gandhi back on the KVIC calendars and diaries? 2018 should tell.
