The decision to claim all the 18 seats won in the last Lok Sabha elections was taken in a meeting of Shiv Sena's Shinde group MPs on Monday. The MPs also expressed the position that the seat allocation should be decided early so that campaigning can be started.
A meeting of MPs was held in both houses of Parliament under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Shiv Sena had won 18 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Even though all the MPs are not with the Shinde group, the MPs demanded that these 18 seats should be secured. It was also argued that seats held by party MPs should not be left for allied parties.

Seat Sharing Woes
Shinde group currently has 13 MPs and BJP is ready to give that many seats. Ajit Pawar group also wants more seats. BJP needs at least 30 seats to contest. This is why there are signs that seat sharing will be a key issue in the Grand Alliance.
