The decision to claim all the 18 seats won in the last Lok Sabha elections was taken in a meeting of Shiv Sena's Shinde group MPs on Monday. The MPs also expressed the position that the seat allocation should be decided early so that campaigning can be started.

A meeting of MPs was held in both houses of Parliament under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Shiv Sena had won 18 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Even though all the MPs are not with the Shinde group, the MPs demanded that these 18 seats should be secured. It was also argued that seats held by party MPs should not be left for allied parties.

A resolution was passed in the meeting to discuss seat allocation and give decision-making authority to the Chief Minister. It was decided to emphasise the issue of Hindutva in the Lok Sabha election campaign. Apart from this, issues such as decisions taken during the tenure of Chief Minister Shinde, infrastructure facilities like Samruddhi Highway, Atal Setu will also be raised in the campaign. A preliminary discussion has been held between BJP, Shinde group and Ajit Pawar group on seat sharing.
