Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh recently briefed Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray about the ongoing investigation in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

On Sunday, Singh met Thackeray at the latter’s residence along with Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and other officials. The Commissioner apprise CM Thackeray about the developments in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

This comes after Thackeray backed Mumbai Police and dismissed the questions being raised over the efficiency of the police. Deshmukh also stated that the Mumbai Police was handling the case in a professional manner and the probe was progressing in the right direction.

The suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has become a national issue and several developments in the case have generated demands on social media that the case is transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Reacting to this, Deshmukh condemned the demand for the demand to transfer the case to CBI and said that the case was being politicised for political gains. He further said that Maharashtra Police was inquiring into the matter professionally and was competent to find out the truth.

“Even if Bihar Police registered an offence in Patna, under Chapter 12 and 13 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) it has been investigated, inquired, tried by the police and courts within whose jurisdiction the offence is committed,” he said.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment in Bandra on June 14. Singh earlier informed that responses of 56 people have been recorded so far in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. He said that the Mumbai Police was investigating the case while catering to every possible angle.
