On Monday, June 13, the Mumbai Police detained over 250 Congress workers who had taken out a protest march from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office, reported the news agency ANI. The protest march was reportedly undertaken in support of Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi and party interim president Sonia Gandhi.

According to reports, many Congress workers and party members such as Varsha Gaikwad, and Aslam Shaikh, amongst others protested outside CSMT station on Monday. They did so because Rahul Gandhi, their leader was being questioned by the ED in connection with the National Herald case.
Owing to this protest, narratives suggest that traffic congestion was seen outside the CSMT station. This invariably resulted in many bus routes being diverted.
For those unversed, the case was brought by a politician from the BJP, Subramanian Swamy. He has reportedly accused the Gandhis of misutilizing the party's funds to purchase a firm that published the now-defunct National Herald newspaper. However, the Gandhis have denied any financial impropriety.
Apart from Rahul, his mother was also summoned by the authority. However, since she has COVID-19 and is admitted to a hospital, the ED issued her a fresh summon for June 23, cite reports.
