MVA government should introspect: BJP MP Narayan Rane on SSR death probe transfer

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Narayan Rane attacked the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government saying that it should reflect on the apex court’s decision to transfer the Sushant Singh Rajput death probe to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Rane, who has earlier made claims that SSR was murdered and did not die of suicide, said that the SC’s decision speaks the mind of Indians. The BJP MP has accused the Maharashtra government of trying to save someone.

Reacting to the SC’s decision, Rane asserted that Mumbai Police should have conducted a proper investigation to maintain their dignity. This was bound to happen since the police have made no arrests in the case, he added.

“The way the Maharashtra government was using the police in handling the case was questionable. I want to tell Mumbai Police that they shouldn’t work for one person,” Rane said while talking to a news channel.

The former Maharashtra Chief Minister further accused the MVA government of abusing its power and attacked Sanjay Raut saying that he should keep his mouth shut.

“The Maharashtra government should introspect on the court’s decision. This government has come to power to abuse its power. The decision by the Supreme Court is appropriate. Sanjay Raut should now shut his mouth,” Rane asserted.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the Bihar government’s order to transfer the SSR death case to CBI. The bench found no fault in the FIR registered in Bihar against actress Rhea Chakraborty and her family members.

The court said that Bihar Police had jurisdiction to register FIR at the complaint of Sushant Singh Rajput’s father. A single bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy held the transfer of the case to CBI valid.
