After Thane’s then guardian minister Eknath Shinde and other MLAs defected Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena party, the latter got split into two factions. Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) group. A week ago, the Election Commission retained Shiv Sena party name and its bow and arrow symbol for the Eknath Shinde group. Post this, many party workers are joining Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena party. 


Recently, underworld don Arun Gawli's brother Pradeep Gawli and former corporator Vandana Gawli both joined the Shiv Sena in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Hundreds of workers were also present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took to Twitter and informed that office-bearers, workers and citizens of All India Sena including former corporators Vandana Gawli and Pradeep Gawli of Byculla area of Mumbai have officially joined Shiv Sena.

In the last six-seven months, after the establishment of the government based on Balasaheb Thackeray's ideas, many people, many activists and functionaries of various parties have joined the Shiv Sena, right from the district, taluka, city in this state. Shinde also said that its activists from outside the state and the state chief are also joining the Shiv Sena.
