Just months ahead of the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, the citizens can get to know how their former corporator spent the funds allocated to him/her to improve their locality and decide if they deserve your vote again.
The Nagarikayan Research Centre has come forward to help citizens evaluate the work of their corporators.
The centre has been evaluating the money spent by corporators over the past few years. They have been helping citizens across the state by providing report cards on corporators besides publishing its own report card on them, has made a short video which educates citizens on how to go to the BMC website and find out through purchase orders where a corporator has spent public money.
Similarly, the centre will guide citizens to review the money spent by their former corporators on the development of their civic wards.
Besides, going a step further this time, the centre has release a short video on guiding the citizens on how to check 'purchase orders' on the BMC website and find out where the former corporators have spent public money allocated to them. In the last six years the centre has come out with 56 report cards of 44 corporators.
The video which was released a few days ago is available in English and Marathi.
Keeping the civic body polls in mind, the research centre wanted citizens to be well informed before deciding on their elected representatives.
