After multiple cases of cow vigilantes assaulting people in the North, people of Mumbai addressed the issue.

A Muslim delegation led by Khar Danda resident, Pinky Punjabi, met BJP Mumbai President, Ashish Shelar regarding cow vigilantism and its impact in Maharashtra.

People from different localities of the city met Ashish Shelar to discuss the issue ahead of Bakri Eid on September 2. The delegation spoke about the current situation of self-proclaimed cow vigilantes. A memorandum submitted by the delegation to the BJP representative was to bridge the gap between the government and the Muslim community on the issue of killings in the name of cow protection.

Extremists are taking the law into their own hands and that's something nobody should be allowed to do. Cow vigilantes are creating an atmosphere of unrest.

Mumbai residents requested him to notify the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and ask for portable kits to test meat samples on the spot. Ashish Shelar has assured the people that they will find an appropriate and fair solution to their concern.
