Bol Mumbai: Should Raj Thackeray have contested Lok Sabha elections?

It has been 13 years since Raj Thackeray drifted away from Shiv Sena and created his own party 'MNS', here's what Mumbaikars have to say about him not contesting the elections this year

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has always voiced his opinion for the betterment of the city and spoken for the people of Mumbai. While he is currently supporting Congress (rather campaigning against BJP), we wanted to know from Mumbaikars, if he should have contested the Lok Sabha elections this year.

A resident stated that as Raj Thackeray had drifted away from Shiv Sena and created his own party, it is very crucial from him to show his power as an individual for his party, therefore, he should have fielded candidates this election or contested himself. Whereas, others begged to differ by saying that Raj Thackeray has followed his ancestors like Balasaheb Thackeray of not contesting the elections but giving others the opportunity to do so.

Amidst all these opinions, almost everyone agreed that if the brother duo of Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray would have been united, they would have been undefeatable.

A Mumbaikar also stated that it has just been 13 years since MNS' inception, therefore, they should be given more time to prove themselves as it has been difficult to bring out any tangible change even when one party had been ruling for over 60 years.
