The early hours of Saturday changed the equation of power in the state and brought a surprise for many. Former state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of the state once again and NCP's Ajit Pawar was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

Until late last night, discussions between the new alliance Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress concluded on a note where it was being said that Shiv Sensa chief Uddhav Thackeray will become the new Chief Minister. NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Friday informed the media about it, and confirmed that Uddhav Thackeray's name has been decided unianimously.

Talking about the same, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut also confirmed said that Thackeray had agreed to become the Chief Minister as per the positive discussions, but on Saturday, the picture has changed completely. The announcement of the CM and Deputy CM has come as an eye-opener for the people of Maharashtra. According to the sources, Ajit Pawar has given his support and confirmation only after NCP chief Sharad Pawar's decision, however no official confirmation has been received yet.

Earlier, it was also observed that Ajit Pawar was not convinced and did not duly participate in the Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena alliance meeting.
