Almost a month after taking charge as the Chief Minister of MaharashtraEknath Shinde is yet to expand his cabinet. Shinde was quoted in a report by the Times of India, elaborating on how while there has been a certain delay, there has not been any dispute at any level. He reportedly added that they will expand the cabinet in the coming three days. He added that there are no differences in the selection of new cabinet members and the affair will be smooth.

On the other hand, Fadnavis was also quoted in the same account elucidating that there will not be any further delay and that they will expand the cabinet soon, as early as possible. He claimed that the same could transpire any day.

While Shinde was anticipated to travel to Delhi on Wednesday, July 27 night, he cancelled his trip at the last minute. Shinde and his deputy counterpart, Devendra Fadnavis took an oath on June 30 but have not expanded their cabinet.

Narratives now speculate if the cabinet expansion will happen in two phases. Moreover, while the swearing-in of the duo transpired promptly, their cabinet expansion has been kept on the back burner. On the one hand, some claim that the go-ahead from the top BJP brass is awaited, others believe that it is because of the cases pending before the Supreme Court.
