State's new Home Minister, Dilip Walse Patil, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, assured the citizens that there will be no political interference from his end during the administrative work, and the decisions on transfers will be made according to the arrangements made. He also stated that he will continue to work for clean and transparent governance in Maharashtra.

Adding more, he reassured the people of Maharashtra by mentioning that the proposed power act, speeding up police recruitment, building houses for the police will be his priority.

The statements were made by Patil at the press conference, held a day after he took charge as the new Home Minister. Sharing more information about the COVID-19 crisis, he said, "The present times are very challenging and the police force is working hard across the state, due to the rising COVID-19 conditions. In addition to that, the police also has the responsibility of maintaining law and order thereby enforcing COVID-19 regulations strongly. This month also includes occasions like the auspicious Gudi Padwa, Ramadan, Ambedkar Jayanti, and Ram Navami, which are important from a religious point of view. While everyone has different expectations, the situation in April is going to be more challenging keeping the crisis in mind. "

He also said that loyalty will be the key for him and he will exercise his power to empower the police force, as it is an important matter and a necessity to take steps in that direction. He reassured that he will try to work keeping a common man's objective as the focus so one gets justice and has faith. By passing this message, Patil warned the police about some of them being loyal to some political parties.

Adding more about the Supreme Court matter, he said that the state government would challenge the outcome of the CBI probe into the Param Bir Singh's and clarified that the state government would extend full cooperation to the CBI-NIA, and it intends to set up an independent mechanism to provide information regarding the investigation of various other cases.
