After the polling for Palghar Lok Sabha by-election was over, some employees of Booth number 17 at Chinchare took the EVM machine through private vehicle instead of the assigned Election Commission (EC) bus.

The vehicle was a red colour car and number plate stated MH-BS380. However, some people stopped the vehicle near Karat village and inquired EC official Deepak Khot and Manohar Khande about the same. The reason for bringing the EVM in a private vehicle is still unclear but the police have arrested these officials.
