Finally, after the long wait, Mumbaikars got to see the penguins from Friday at Byculla zoo. Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated the building where penguins have been kept. During the inauguration, Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray, mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, Yashwant Jadhav and BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta were present.


During the inauguration, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray took a dig at BJP saying that now people will get to the penguins from the transparent glass. No BJP leader had come for the inauguration.

Rs. 26 crores have been spent on the building specially designed for penguins.Mumbaikars will get to see the penguins for free by 31 March from 9 am to 6 pm. From 1 April, visitors will have to pay Rs. 100 for adults and Rs. 50 for kids.
