To avoid defections in the Legislative Council elections, the three constituent parties of Mahayuti have decided to keep MLAs in safe places, but the royal wedding of industrialist Mukesh Ambani's son has made it difficult to find five-star hotels in Mumbai. Due to this, separate arrangements will be made for BJP and Shinde group MLAs.

An election is being held for the Legislative Council on Friday. Milind Narvekar of Shiv Sena Thackeray group and Jayant Patil of Peasants and Workers Party of India (PWP) are strong candidates despite not having enough votes. With 12 candidates in the fray for 11 seats, there are signs of a defection. Due to this, BJP, Shiv Sena Shinde faction and Ajit Pawar faction of NCP have become cautious. MLAs will be kept together for three days from Wednesday on behalf of BJP. The Shiv Sena Shinde group has also decided to keep its MLAs in a safe place. NCP Ajit Pawar group will keep MLAs together on Thursday-Friday.

Most of the hotels in the Bandra-Kurla complex as well as the airport area have been booked. A large number of rooms have been reserved in South Mumbai as well. A leader of the Mahayutti said that due to this, it was difficult to get hotels to keep the MLAs safe. Although the Mahayuti has kept the MLAs safe, the Mahavikas Aghadi has not taken such a decision. Congress has organised a luncheon for party MLAs on Thursday. It will guide the MLAs on how to vote. Even the NCP Sharad Pawar group has not made a separate arrangement for the MLAs. It was said that the Shiv Sena Thackeray faction has not informed the MLAs yet.
