Discussions have started that MNS president Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray may contest the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections together. The leaders of both the parties have also given positive signals in this regard.

However, these speculations have almost come to an end now. It is being said that this alliance is stuck in terms. The ward structure in Mumbai is likely to be announced in October. After that, BMC elections can be announced. It is generally being speculated that these elections will be held in November or December. Therefore, the discussion of a possible alliance between the two parties has also been postponed.
